Deep 40
Offered by Dahayla South
Dahab, South Sinai
Course Description
The Deep 40 course at Dive South is designed for certified divers looking to extend their recreational depth limit to 40 meters. This advanced training focuses on the planning, procedures, and potential risks associated with deeper dives. You will learn about gas management, decompression sickness prevention, and emergency protocols specific to these depths. The course typically involves two open water dives, conducted at local sites known for their suitability for advanced training, allowing you to practice the skills learned under the supervision of experienced instructors. Dive South offers certification through multiple agencies, including PADI, IDEA, and RAID, ensuring your new qualification is widely recognized.
While specific dive site conditions can vary, the waters around the UK generally offer a temperate climate. Visibility can range from good to excellent depending on the season and weather, often exceeding 10 meters, and sometimes reaching up to 20 meters. The seabed in the training areas is typically a mix of sand and rock, supporting a variety of marine life such as crabs, lobsters, and various fish species. Water temperatures can fluctuate significantly, dropping to around 8-10°C in winter and rising to 15-18°C in summer, making appropriate thermal protection, such as a drysuit, a practical consideration for dives in colder months. Dive South provides training in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Russian, catering to a diverse international clientele.
