The 1-star Diver course at Aqua Nostra in Hoogeveen is your entry point into the underwater world, guided by certified NOB instructors. This foundational program prioritizes building essential diving skills within a secure and encouraging setting. Theoretical instruction takes place at the club's Hoogeveen facilities, covering crucial aspects of diving principles, equipment, and safety protocols. Practical skill development begins in the pool at Zwembad de Dolfijn, where you will learn fundamental techniques like mask clearing, regulator recovery, and buoyancy control under expert supervision.

Upon successful completion of pool training, your journey continues with open water dives at Engelgaarde lake, located near Ruinerwold. These practical sessions are conveniently scheduled for Wednesday evenings between April and September. Aqua Nostra generously provides well-maintained rental equipment, including tanks, regulators, and BCDs, free of charge for 1-star divers. This policy significantly lowers the initial financial barrier for aspiring divers, allowing you to concentrate on learning without the immediate need for personal gear investment.
