Course Description
The Freediver course at Dive Friends Bonaire is your entry point into the serene world of breath-hold diving. This program focuses on teaching you the fundamental techniques and critical safety procedures necessary for exploring the underwater realm on a single breath. You will learn essential skills in breath-hold, equalization, and efficient underwater movement. The curriculum includes vital theory on the physiology of breath-hold diving, effective relaxation methods, and comprehensive risk management strategies. Practical sessions are designed to build your confidence and ability, covering static apnea (breath-hold while stationary), dynamic apnea (horizontal swimming on one breath), and vertical dives such as free immersion or constant weight.
Bonaire's renowned clear waters and consistently calm conditions provide an exceptional training environment for this course. Dive Friends Bonaire leverages these ideal conditions to help participants safely extend their breath-hold duration and enhance their comfort level beneath the surface. A strong emphasis is placed on mastering proper buddy procedures and recognizing the signs of shallow water blackout, ensuring a safe and controlled learning experience. Upon completion, you will possess a solid foundation for recreational freediving or as a stepping stone to more advanced freediving certifications.
