Open Water Diver
Offered by Scuba Nova
Lelystad, Flevoland
Course Description
The Open Water Diver course at Scuba Nova runs with theory sessions on Wednesday evenings, pool work at Zwembad de Koploper, and four open water dives launching from Twickel 57 in Lelystad. The structure is six theory modules — quizzes after modules one through five, a final test after module six — followed by six confined water sessions and four open water dives to a maximum depth of 18 m.
The certification is an SSI Open Water Diver brevet, internationally recognised, which allows independent diving with a buddy to 18 m. For a Junior certification the minimum age is 10 years with parental or guardian consent.
The school states the course can be completed in 3.5 days, though they recommend planning five days for a more relaxed pace. The price of €499 includes certification fees, dives, equipment use, and tank fills. Individual scheduling is available, particularly during summer.
