Offered by Blue Water Freediving School
london, England
Course Description
The AIDA **** Master Freediver Course at Bluewater Freediving is an advanced technical program designed to elevate your freediving capabilities beyond recreational limits. This intensive course focuses on mastering deep freediving techniques, including exhale diving and mouth fill methods, preparing you for depths up to 32 meters. You will undertake approximately 5 dives across 2.5 days, with a maximum instructor-to-student ratio of 1:4, ensuring personalized attention. The curriculum covers advanced theoretical aspects of freediving, followed by practical pool sessions and open water assessments at sites like Vobster or Deep Spot Poland. Upon successful completion, you will be qualified to act as an assistant on AIDA courses.
This course demands a high level of commitment and skill, requiring participants to achieve a 3 minute 30 second static breath-hold, a 70-meter dynamic apnea swim with fins, and the target 32-meter open water dive. Beyond the in-water performance, the program introduces crucial elements for long-term development, such as full-body and lung stretching, cross-training strategies, and dietary considerations. A comprehensive handout will be provided for continued reference and study, solidifying the knowledge gained during the course.
Prerequisites for enrollment include being at least 18 years old (or 16 with parental consent) and holding an AIDA *** Freediver certification or an equivalent qualification. A valid First Aid with CPR certification, such as EFR, is mandatory; discounted EFR courses can be arranged by the center. Participants must also submit a completed AIDA Medical Form and a Liability Release before commencing the course. This rigorous preparation ensures all students are well-equipped to handle the demands of advanced freediving safely and effectively.
While the course fee of 470.00 GBP covers instruction and certification, essential equipment like a mask, fins, and wetsuit is not included, though rental options are available. The academic sessions delve into the physiology and physics of deep diving, while practical sessions hone your technique in both confined and open water environments. Bluewater Freediving offers this advanced training in English, with other languages like German, French, Italian, and Portuguese also available at the center, catering to a diverse international clientele.
