Seal Team

The SSI Seal Team program offered by Montevideo Diving is an engaging pool-based adventure designed specifically for young aspiring divers. This course focuses on building fundamental scuba skills through a series of fun and challenging AquaMissions. Participants will learn essential techniques such as mask clearing, regulator recovery, and mastering buoyancy control, often described as feeling like an astronaut floating in space. These initial missions lay a solid foundation in safe diving practices within a controlled environment.

Following the foundational AquaMissions, Seal Team members can progress to more specialized dives. These advanced missions introduce exciting new skills, like using a dive flashlight for underwater exploration and capturing memories with underwater digital photography. Each specialty AquaMission is typically an hour long, reinforcing safe diving habits while ensuring a high level of enjoyment and engagement for the children. This program is conducted exclusively in a pool setting by trained and certified SSI professionals.

Seal Team is more than just skill development; it instills a sense of responsibility in young participants and fosters an appreciation for the aquatic environment. It provides a healthy and fun avenue for children to develop confidence and competence in the water. The program is structured to be an enjoyable introduction to the underwater world, preparing them for potential future certifications like the Junior Open Water Diver course, which they can enroll in at age 10. All necessary scuba equipment, appropriately sized for children, is provided.

Upon successful completion of the initial five AquaMissions, divers earn the SSI Seal Team certification. Achieving an additional ten specialty Aqua Missions grants them the prestigious Master Seal Team qualification. Montevideo Diving ensures that all participants receive their certification upon course completion, with study materials available separately to supplement their learning journey. This program is an excellent stepping stone for any child interested in exploring the wonders of scuba diving.
