Open Water Diver
Offered by World Diving Lembongan
Nusa Lembongan, Bali
Course Description
The PADI Open Water Diver course at World Diving Lembongan is your entry into certified scuba diving, enabling exploration up to 18 meters. This program spans three to four days, integrating theoretical knowledge with practical skills. You will learn essential dive physics, physiology, and planning through PADI eLearning or classroom sessions. Subsequent confined water dives in a pool environment focus on mastering critical skills like mask clearing, regulator recovery, and buoyancy control. These foundational exercises are key to building confidence before transitioning to open water.
Upon mastering confined water skills, your training moves to open water dives at renowned sites around Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida. These dives allow you to apply your new abilities in real-world conditions, exploring vibrant coral reefs and diverse marine life. Training often takes place in areas like Lembongan Bay and Toyapakeh, chosen for their suitable depths and conditions for new divers. This hands-on experience is designed to be both educational and engaging, making your first steps into scuba diving memorable.
World Diving Lembongan prioritizes personalized attention with small group sizes, typically maintaining an instructor-to-student ratio of 1:4. This ensures each student receives dedicated support and feedback to achieve proficiency. The center provides all necessary rental equipment, including tanks, weights, and a full set of scuba gear, so you can concentrate on learning. The PADI Open Water Diver certification you receive is recognized globally, allowing you to dive independently with a buddy to 18 meters.
This certification serves as the essential prerequisite for further dive education, such as advanced courses. The structured curriculum balances theoretical understanding with practical application, ensuring you are well-prepared for future underwater adventures. The course is designed to be an enjoyable and confidence-building experience, opening up a new world of exploration beneath the waves.
