Open Water Diver

Embark on your global diving adventure with the PADI Open Water Diver certification, the most widely recognized certification worldwide, offered by Golden Rock Dive Center. This comprehensive course typically spans 3 to 4 days and equips you with the essential rules and techniques for safe scuba diving, including proper equipment preparation and usage. The minimum age requirement is 10 years old, and participants must be able to swim.

For the theoretical portion, you have the flexibility to choose between PADI eLearning, allowing you to study at your own pace anytime, anywhere with an internet connection, or obtaining a physical book from Golden Rock Dive Center. Regardless of your choice, our instructors will review key concepts and address any questions you may have. The eLearning option saves valuable time, enabling you to maximize your diving or other activities during your stay.

The practical training includes a session in a protected environment where you will master around twenty exercises. These exercises are crucial for developing underwater skills, improving buoyancy control, and ensuring safe and enjoyable dives. Mastering these skills is fundamental to becoming a confident and competent diver.

To complete the certification, you will conduct four open water dives from a boat in the sea, reaching a maximum depth of 18 meters (60 feet). These dives provide the opportunity to apply the techniques learned during your training while exploring the stunning underwater landscapes surrounding St. Eustatius. The dives are conducted in the Marine Reserve, offering a chance to see the diverse marine life the island is known for.

Golden Rock Dive Center, as the sole PADI 5-Star training center on the island, ensures high-quality instruction tailored to each student's needs.
