Offered by CPA PULA
PULA, Istria County
Course Description
The R1 course at CPA Pula provides a foundational introduction to scuba diving, aligning with HRS and CMAS standards for globally recognized certification. This program is specifically designed for individuals with no prior diving experience, offering them the essential skills and knowledge to confidently explore the underwater realm. The curriculum is structured to ensure a thorough understanding of diving principles, covering approximately 8 hours of theoretical instruction.
Theoretical sessions are conducted in a classroom setting at the club's facilities, focusing on equipment familiarization, the physics and physiology of diving, safe diving practices, and environmental awareness. Practical training begins in a controlled environment, such as a swimming pool, where participants master fundamental skills like mask clearing, regulator recovery, buoyancy control, and underwater communication. CPA Pula provides all necessary diving equipment throughout the course, ensuring trainees have access to reliable gear for their learning journey.
To apply these newly acquired skills, the R1 course includes two boat dives. These excursions allow students to experience real diving environments under the direct supervision of experienced instructors, offering a chance to observe local marine life and practice their techniques. The entire program is designed for completion within a week, making it an accessible entry point into the exciting world of scuba diving. The R1 certification is recognized internationally through CMAS.
This introductory program is the first step for aspiring divers. Upon successful completion, participants will be equipped with the basic competencies required for recreational diving. The skills learned are directly transferable to further diving education, such as advanced open water courses, enabling a continuous progression in diving proficiency and exploration.
