Open Circuit Instructor

The Open Circuit Instructor course at Ondanomalascuba is designed for experienced divers aiming to become certified educators. This professional-level program qualifies you to teach RAID open circuit courses from Level 1 up to Level 4. These courses cover dives without decompression, maintaining a partial oxygen pressure (PpO2) greater than 1.4, and extend to a maximum depth of 40 meters (132 feet). Upon successful completion, you will gain worldwide recognition to conduct open circuit training efficiently and safely.

This comprehensive program focuses on developing your instructional techniques and understanding of learning methodologies within the RAID system. You will master the standards for teaching various levels and specialties, ensuring you can create a positive and effective learning environment for your students. The curriculum includes rigorous theoretical modules on instructional design and evaluation techniques, alongside practical training. This practical component involves teaching demonstrations, in-water skill evaluations, and supervised teaching sessions, fully preparing you to lead your own courses.

To enter this demanding program, candidates must be at least 18 years old and hold RAID Levels 1, 2, and 3 certifications on open circuit, including all theoretical components. A minimum of 12 months as a certified diver is required, along with RAID Level 4 Divemaster or equivalent certification and at least 60 logged diving hours. Furthermore, a RAID Level 3 Rescue certification or equivalent, active Rescue Breathing/CPR Training, and Oxygen Provider certifications are mandatory. The trainer will meticulously evaluate all exercises and qualifications.
