Offered by GRANDE POLPO
Sapporo, Hokkaido Prefecture
Course Description
Embark on your underwater journey with Grande Polpo's Introductory Diving experience, also known as trial diving. This program is specifically crafted for individuals with absolutely no prior scuba diving experience, offering a safe and controlled introduction to the marine world. You'll learn the fundamental skills needed to breathe and move comfortably underwater using scuba gear, with a maximum depth limit of 12 meters, though most participants explore between 3 to 8 meters. The session includes a comprehensive lecture on equipment and essential techniques, followed by a guided ocean dive led by a certified instructor, ensuring you feel at ease and confident throughout.
This introductory dive is designed for participants aged junior high school to 50 years old who can communicate in Japanese. It serves as an excellent opportunity to discover your passion for scuba diving before committing to a full certification course. Grande Polpo prioritizes your safety and comfort, providing all necessary guidance and supervision. Participants are advised to consult a physician if they have any pre-existing medical conditions, particularly those related to circulation, respiration, or ear health. Pregnant women are not permitted to participate.
Grande Polpo, located in Sapporo, is affiliated with PADI, a globally recognized certification agency. This ensures that the instruction you receive meets high international standards. The course fee of 22,000 JPY covers all necessary equipment rental and facility usage fees, making it a convenient and accessible option for newcomers to the sport. After your dive, a mandatory waiting period is required before flying, a standard safety protocol in scuba diving.
This experience is more than just a trial; it's a chance to witness the beauty of marine life firsthand and experience the profound tranquility of the underwater environment. It's the perfect stepping stone for those considering pursuing a full diving license, such as the PADI Open Water Diver course. The controlled environment and expert guidance provided by Grande Polpo make this introductory dive a rewarding and memorable first encounter with the ocean's depths.
