The curriculum emphasizes proper breathing techniques, relaxation methods, and efficient movement through the water, building a solid base for year-round training and skill enhancement.
While specific dive sites and open water conditions are not part of this pool-based certification, the course prepares you for them. The UK's climate, with average air temperatures ranging from 5.7°C in January to 18.2°C in August, highlights the value of a pool-based program for consistent training. The sea temperature averages 12.9°C, further underscoring the benefits of practicing in a consistently warm pool environment. This allows for uninterrupted skill development regardless of external weather conditions.
Mulberry Divers, located in the UK, offers this SSI certification, ensuring adherence to international standards. The center's commitment to quality training is reflected in its affiliation with SSI, a globally recognized freediving agency. While specific details on instructor-to-student ratios or dedicated pool facilities are not provided, the SSI Pool Freediver certification is designed to build confidence and competence in a safe setting.
To participate in the SSI Pool Freediver course, participants should be comfortable in the water. The course focuses on theoretical knowledge and practical skills performed in a swimming pool. Participants will learn about the physiology of freediving, equalization techniques, and rescue procedures. The emphasis is on building a strong foundation for safe and enjoyable freediving experiences, with all necessary safety equipment provided during the course.
Upon successful completion of the SSI Pool Freediver course, you will have acquired the essential knowledge and skills to progress in your freediving journey. This certification serves as an excellent stepping stone towards more advanced SSI courses, such as the SSI Level 1 Freediver, allowing you to explore deeper waters and refine your abilities. It equips you with the confidence and competence to continue your training and exploration in various aquatic environments.
