Instructor Development Course

The PADI Instructor Development Program (IDP) at Simply Scuba is your direct pathway to becoming a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. This intensive professional-level course is designed to hone your leadership and teaching capabilities, preparing you to guide and educate new divers. As a PADI 5 Star IDC Training Facility, Simply Scuba is committed to delivering the highest standards of instructor training. The program focuses on mastering the PADI System of diver education, ensuring you are proficient in academic presentations, confined water instruction, and open water training management.

To enter the IDP, candidates must hold a PADI Assistant Instructor or Divemaster certification (or equivalent from another agency), be at least 18 years old, and have a minimum of six months as a certified diver. Crucially, a log of 100 open water dives is required prior to the Instructor Examination (IE). Current CPR and first aid certification are also mandatory prerequisites. Simply Scuba's experienced PADI Course Director leads these programs, offering expert mentorship throughout the curriculum.

Instruction at Simply Scuba is primarily conducted in English, catering to a diverse international clientele. The facility offers flexible training schedules, including a part-time option spanning two months, allowing aspiring instructors to balance their professional development with other commitments. The IDP curriculum is meticulously structured to cover all aspects of dive education, equipping you with the confidence and skills to teach effectively. This comprehensive preparation culminates in the PADI Instructor Examination (IE), a rigorous assessment of your teaching abilities and dive knowledge.

Upon successful completion of both the IDP and the IE, you will earn the PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor certification. This qualification empowers you to teach a wide array of PADI courses, from the foundational Open Water Diver course up to the Divemaster level, as well as select specialty programs.
