Discover Scuba Diving
Offered by Go Divers
South Ari Atoll, South Ari Atoll
Course Description
Embark on your underwater adventure with the Discover Scuba Diver (DSD) program at GoDivers, a PADI-affiliated center. This introductory experience is meticulously crafted for individuals with no prior scuba diving background, offering a safe and engaging first taste of the marine world. The program begins with a comprehensive orientation covering essential scuba equipment, fundamental diving principles, and crucial safety guidelines. You'll then practice vital skills in a controlled, confined water environment, mastering techniques like mask clearing and buoyancy control before your first shallow dive within the lagoon.
Following the confined water session, an optional open water dive from a boat can be arranged for an additional fee. This dive takes place on a suitable site chosen by the instructor, with depth and duration tailored to your comfort level. Throughout this supervised exploration, a PADI instructor will provide close guidance, ensuring your safety and assisting as needed while you begin to explore the vibrant underwater environment. This experience is designed to be an accessible introduction, not a certification course, but it lays the groundwork for further PADI training.
GoDivers operates with a commitment to personalized attention, ensuring a positive learning environment. While specific instructor-to-student ratios for the DSD program are not detailed, the emphasis is on close supervision. The center offers instruction in both English and Italian, catering to a diverse range of international visitors. This approach allows for clear communication and a more comfortable learning experience for all participants.
To participate in the Discover Scuba Diver program, you will need to meet basic health and fitness requirements, typically confirmed via a medical questionnaire completed prior to the session. All necessary scuba equipment is provided by GoDivers for the duration of the program. Participants should be comfortable in the water and ready to embrace a new challenge. The skills learned here can be directly applied to a PADI Open Water Diver course, should you decide to continue your scuba journey.
