Course Description

The PADI Open Water Diver (OWD) course at GoDivers provides a globally recognized certification, marking the essential first step into the world of recreational scuba diving. This program is meticulously designed to equip you with fundamental knowledge and practical skills, opening doors to underwater exploration. GoDivers, located in the Maldives, offers this foundational certification through PADI, a leading agency in diver education. The curriculum includes comprehensive knowledge development, completed via self-paced e-learning, covering dive physics, physiology, equipment, and crucial safety procedures. This theoretical foundation is then reinforced through hands-on training.

Confined water training takes place in a lagoon environment, allowing you to practice essential skills like mask clearing, regulator recovery, and buoyancy control under the direct supervision of a certified PADI instructor. You will refine these techniques until proficient, ensuring a solid base for open water dives. The course mandates a minimum of four open water dives, conducted in real ocean settings. These dives are where you'll apply your learned skills and knowledge, demonstrating safe and comfortable diving practices. Upon successful completion, you will be certified to dive to a maximum depth of 18 meters (60 feet), valid worldwide.

GoDivers offers this PADI Open Water Diver course in English and Italian, catering to a diverse range of international students. The typical duration for the entire course is 3-5 days, though individual progress may vary. This timeframe allows for thorough skill development and knowledge acquisition. The center's commitment to diver education is evident in its structured approach, ensuring that each student gains the confidence and competence needed for future underwater adventures. The prerequisite for this course is being at least 10 years old, in good physical health, and comfortable in the water, with a medical questionnaire typically required.

This certification is your passport to exploring the vibrant marine ecosystems the Maldives are famous for. The PADI Open Water Diver certification from GoDivers unlocks the ability to plan and execute dives with a buddy, opening up countless dive sites around the globe. It serves as the prerequisite for further PADI specialty courses, such as Advanced Open Water Diver, allowing you to deepen your diving expertise and explore even greater depths and more challenging environments. Your journey into the underwater realm begins here.
