Course Description

Libertas Scuba Stirling offers specialized training in Closed Circuit Rebreather (CCR) diving, focusing on the technical aspects of operating and maintaining these advanced life support systems. This course delves into the intricacies of rebreather technology, providing divers with the knowledge and skills necessary for extended and silent underwater exploration. Participants will gain a deep understanding of gas management, counter-lung function, scrubber duration, and the unique emergency procedures critical for safe rebreather diving.

The curriculum is designed to prepare divers for advanced technical exploration, including deep dives and extended decompression profiles. Led by experienced instructors like Ian Reid, a Master Diving Instructor with extensive experience on AP rebreathers, the training emphasizes meticulous operational procedures and potential failure modes. This technical level course equips individuals to manage complex rebreather systems effectively, ensuring a higher level of safety and proficiency in challenging dive environments.

Rebreather diving itself offers a significantly more intimate experience with the marine world due to its silent operation and minimal bubble exhaust, allowing for longer dive times. The courses cover various types of rebreathers and their specific operational requirements, ensuring a broad understanding of the technology. This advanced training is a crucial step for technical divers aiming to push the boundaries of their exploration capabilities.

Participants will learn to manage the complex systems and potential failure modes of these advanced life support devices. The training includes detailed instruction on gas management, counter-lung function, scrubber duration, and emergency procedures unique to rebreathers. This comprehensive approach ensures that graduates are well-prepared for the demands of technical rebreather diving, building confidence and competence.
