Course Description
The River Diving course in Verzasca / Maggia with Divesport in Switzerland teaches advanced divers the techniques for drift diving in alpine rivers. This course, certified by CMAS and PADI, typically includes several dives to master the specific challenges and beauties of waters like the Verzasca and Maggia. The practice focuses on safely navigating through flowing water, understanding current patterns, and recognizing potential hazards, while simultaneously enjoying the fascinating rock formations and clear visibility of these Swiss rivers. The maximum dive depth is geared towards the advanced level, usually up to 30 meters for AOWD-certified divers, with the number of dives required to master the skills.
The Verzasca and Maggia are known for their exceptional clarity and the impressive geological formations they have shaped over time. Water temperatures can vary significantly depending on the season; while the summer months offer pleasant conditions, cooler periods require adapted equipment, such as a dry suit, to ensure comfort. Visibility is often excellent, making exploration of the underwater landscape with its smooth rocks and occasional aquatic inhabitants a special experience. Divesport offers this course in an environment appreciated for both its natural beauty and its diving opportunities, making it a destination for experienced divers seeking new challenges.
