About the Center
Centro de Buceo en Cabo de Gata Sea&Sun, located in La Isleta del Moro, at the heart of the Cabo de Gata Natural Park, offers an exceptional diving experience with over 30 years of expertise. Certified by PADI, SSI, and CMAS/FFESSM, including TDI, this center caters to divers of all levels, from beginners to professionals. They offer courses such as Discover Scuba Diving, Open Water Diver, and Instructor Development Course, alongside adapted diving courses and hiking excursions.
Facilities include lockers, a bar, equipment rental, and air fills (nitrox). Dives are conducted via boat, encompassing both diving and snorkeling trips, with a strong focus on the prime dive sites within the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Marine Reserve, recognized by UNESCO. The team, comprised of passionate professionals with decades of local experience, ensures safety and personalized attention, often described as "à la carte" diving.
The center also provides guided snorkeling routes to discover the park's rich marine biodiversity, including Posidonia meadows and starfish. Dives, which can reach depths of 35 meters, are exclusively within the Natural Park, leveraging the clear waters and the best-preserved coastline of the European Mediterranean. Cancel more than 48 hours in advance and you get a full refund. Less than 48 hours notice or no-show means no refund. Course enrolment fees are non-refundable, but practical sessions can be postponed up to two years.
Yes. After paying the 150€ enrolment fee, the centre sends you the manual as a PDF and gives you access to their online platform. You complete the theory at home at your own pace, then come to La Isleta del Moro for the practical dives in the marine reserve.
The entry-level course is available as Open Water Diver PADI (to 18 m) or Buceador 1 Estrella FEDAS-CMAS (to 25 m after 20 logged dives). The CMAS certification also permits decompression diving, which the PADI OWD does not. From there, the B2E/Advanced OWD reaches 40 m, and the B3E is the top recreational level.
A maximum of 10 people per boat, including the guide and skipper.
All practical dives take place in the sea, inside the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Marine Reserve. The centre does not use a pool; open-water conditions from the start.
The course price covers up to 6 practical sessions. If you struggle with any exercise, you get up to 2 extra sessions free of charge at the instructor's discretion. Additional extraordinary sessions beyond that cost 60€ each.
