Key marine attractions include a resident endangered dugong population, schooling Hammerhead Sharks, Thresher Sharks, pods of Melon Headed and Pilot Whales, Spinner and bottlenose Dolphins, and Mola Mola.

Diving in Alor is possible year-round, but optimal conditions are typically from April to November. October and November are favored months, though currents may be stronger. Visibility is normally around 25-30 meters but can decrease to 15 meters or less during plankton blooms caused by the southeast monsoon. Upwelling events can cause temporary drops in temperature to as low as 12°C.

Alor offers over 30 dive sites, including vibrant coral reefs, walls, pinnacles, and macro-focused sandy slopes. Popular sites include Yellow Corner for pelagics, Wolang Cave for unique cave dives, Anemone City for its anemone fields, Mucky Mosque and Pantai Dulolong for macro life, and Bama Wall for drift dives. The resort's house reef is also a significant attraction.
