About the Center

Manta Diving Madeira is a PADI, SSI, IAC and CMAS/VDST dive center located in Caniço de Baixo, Madeira, within the Garajau Partial Natural Reserve (Portugal's first marine reserve, established in 1986). Founded in the 1980s, it is currently a reference dive center on the island of Madeira, with international awards and certifications. Located at Hotel Galomar/Galo Resort Hotels, it offers direct shore access to four distinct dive sites with depths ranging from 5 to 34 meters. The center specializes in dive training from beginner to instructor level, shore and boat diving, night diving, and freediving. Its facilities include a private bathing complex, a saltwater pool with a children's area, full equipment for 15 people, two compressors of 450 L/min each, a nitrox membrane system, dive computers, LED lights, underwater cameras, and emergency oxygen kits. The marine reserve features caves, tunnels, groupers, barracudas, parrotfish, and Atlantic manta rays. It operates Monday to Saturday from 8:45 AM to 5:00 PM, with the season running from March to January.
