Students learn proper body posturing, equalization techniques, and how to manage potential emergencies underwater. The course is open to anyone looking to enter the world of mermaiding, focusing heavily on safety and grace. Upon successful completion, candidates receive a digital SSI Mermaid certification.
Ocean Mermaid
The Ocean Mermaid course takes mermaid training out into the open sea environments of La Azohía. Under Mirta's guidance, certified mermaids learn how to adapt their skills to waves, currents, and natural coastal conditions. The course is designed to increase depth comfort and open water safety. Training includes surface swimming techniques, buddy system protocols, and environmental awareness while wearing a monofin. All sessions are structured to build confidence in natural aquatic systems, emphasizing respect for local marine ecosystems. Successful candidates receive their SSI Ocean Mermaid rating.
