PADI Divemaster
The Divemaster course at Scubafriends Tenerife runs eight to ten days depending on individual availability and is priced at €1,199. Entry requires a Rescue Diver certification, valid CPR and first aid training, a medical certificate, current dive insurance, and a minimum of 45 logged dives at the start — with 60 required to complete the program. Minimum age is 18. The price includes the full student kit: PADI encyclopedia, Divemaster manual, instructor manual, PADI DM cue cards, and all equipment during the course. The program covers dive site mapping, running briefings, supervising student divers, emergency management, and assisting with Discover Scuba and entry-level courses. Scubafriends Tenerife is a PADI 5 Stars IDC Center, which means the Divemaster here is trained in an environment that also runs instructor-level programs — the standards applied are those of a full professional development facility. Salvatore Giglione, the Course Director and center owner, has personally certified dozens of Divemasters who are now working at dive operations internationally. For those who want to continue to the instructor level immediately after completing the DM, the IDC runs four cycles per year in Tenerife with the same Course Director. The transition from DM to IDC candidate within the same center is a practical option the center actively supports.
Corso PADI Sidemount
The Sidemount specialty at Scubafriends Tenerife trains divers to carry two independent cylinders mounted at the sides of the body rather than on the back. The configuration, originally developed for cave diving, is now used by recreational divers for its redundancy, streamlined profile, and reduced back strain. The center's technical background — with a Course Director holding Tec 50 and Trimix ratings — means the Sidemount course here sits within a teaching environment that understands the configuration in its technical context, not just as a recreational variant. For divers considering a path toward cave or technical diving, that context matters. Instruction in Italian, Spanish, or English.

All guided dives include an instructor-led dive, a 12-liter tank and weights, transport to the dive sites in the center's van, water and a snack after diving, and anti-fog gel for your mask.
