El curso PADI Divemaster de Scubafriends Tenerife dura entre ocho y diez días según la disponibilidad de cada alumno y tiene un precio de 1.199€. Requiere la certificación Rescue Diver, el curso RCP y primeros auxilios EFR, un certificado médico, seguro de buceo vigente (contratable en el propio centro) y un mínimo de 45 inmersiones registradas al empezar, con 60 necesarias para completar el programa. La edad mínima es 18 años (14 para el Junior Divemaster). El precio incluye el kit completo del alumno: enciclopedia PADI, manual de Divemaster, manual de instructor, tablilla acuática de Divemaster y todo el equipo durante el curso. El programa cubre el mapeo de puntos de inmersión, la dirección de briefings, la supervisión de buceadores en formación, la gestión de emergencias y la colaboración en cursos de Discover Scuba Diving y de nivel inicial. Scubafriends Tenerife es un centro PADI 5 Estrellas IDC, por lo que el Divemaster se imparte en un entorno que también forma instructores, con los estándares de un centro de desarrollo profesional completo. Salvatore Giglione, Course Director y propietario del centro, ha certificado personalmente a decenas de Divemasters que hoy trabajan en centros de buceo de todo el mundo. Quienes quieran continuar directamente hacia el nivel de instructor pueden hacerlo: el IDC se celebra cuatro veces al año en Tenerife con el mismo Course Director, y la transición de Divemaster a candidato de IDC en el mismo centro es una opción que el centro apoya activamente.
Curso PADI Sidemount
El curso PADI Sidemount de Scubafriends Tenerife enseña a llevar dos botellas independientes montadas a los lados del cuerpo en lugar de a la espalda. Esta configuración, nacida para el buceo en cuevas, la usan hoy muchos buceadores recreativos por su redundancia, su perfil hidrodinámico y la reducción del esfuerzo en la espalda. El curso está dirigido personalmente por el Course Director Salvatore Giglione, en grupos limitados a un máximo de dos alumnos. El paquete incluye el PADI eLearning de Sidemount, un taller práctico de configuración del arnés y equilibrio de las botellas, 3 inmersiones en mar abierto con ejercicios de aleteo y gestión de gas, el alquiler de todo el equipo Sidemount (ala, arnés, reguladores específicos y ordenador de buceo), transporte a los puntos de inmersión, agua y snacks, y la certificación PADI Sidemount Diver. Requisitos: certificación PADI Open Water Diver (o equivalente), edad mínima 15 años; se recomiendan al menos 10-12 inmersiones registradas y buen control de la flotabilidad. Duración: 2-3 días entre teoría/configuración e inmersiones. El trasfondo técnico del centro —con un Course Director que posee las titulaciones Tec 50 y Trimix— hace que el Sidemount se enseñe aquí dentro de un contexto técnico real, no solo como variante recreativa; es una base útil para quien más adelante quiera acercarse al buceo técnico o de cuevas. What people ask before booking
Yes — guided dives are for certified divers only, minimum a first-level certification. You must be at least 10 years old. If you are not certified, the Try Dive (Discover Scuba Diving) program is the alternative. DAN Europe insurance is required and can be arranged at the center if you don't have it.
All guided dives include an instructor-led dive, a 12-liter tank and weights, transport to the dive sites in the center's van, water and a snack after diving, and anti-fog gel for your mask. Equipment rental — including dive computer and signaling buoy, both mandatory — costs €20 per day separately.
Groups for guided dives are capped at five or six divers per guide. Course groups are also capped at five or six, and the PADI Advanced Open Water course runs with a maximum of three students. The IDC is limited-enrollment and conducted in small groups of up to six.
Courses are available in Italian, Spanish, and English. The IDC course in particular is confirmed in all three languages.
Three packages exist. The Bronze at €399 covers the e-learning manual, five adventure dives, full equipment rental, dive computer, transport, water and snacks, and the AOWD certification. The Silver at €440 adds photos and video, a Dive Against Debris certification, and DAN Europe insurance. The Gold at €659 extends to six dives including one in Nitrox, adds Nitrox and DSMB specialties, photos, video, and DAN insurance. Minimum age is 12, no written exam required.
The Divemaster course costs €1,199 and runs eight to ten days. Entry requires a Rescue Diver certification, CPR and first aid training, a valid medical certificate, dive insurance, and at least 45 logged dives — with 60 required by the end of the course. Minimum age is 18. The price includes the student kit, PADI encyclopedia, DM and instructor manuals, cue cards, and all equipment throughout.
Yes. Because Salvatore is both the center owner and the PADI Course Director, it is possible to schedule the IDC at dates that suit you, outside the four fixed 2026 cycles (January–February, May, September, and November–December). Contact the center directly to arrange custom dates.
