IANTD offre una vasta gamma di corsi che spaziano dal livello ricreativo (Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver) al tecnico (Deep Air Diver, Trimix Diver, Rebreather Diver), oltre a specialità come Wreck Diver, Cavern Diver e corsi di supporto come Medic First Aid e Gas Blender.
IANTD è stata fondata negli USA nel 1985 ed è stata la prima organizzazione didattica a dedicarsi all'insegnamento della subacquea nitrox, tecnica, trimix e rebreather. In Italia, è stata fondata nel 1993 da Fabio Ruberti.
IANTD è l'acronimo di INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION of NITROX and TECHNICAL DIVERS, ovvero Associazione Internazionale Subacquei Tecnici e Nitrox.
IANTD si distingue per la sua expertise nel buceo técnico, l'uso di miscele (Nitrox, Trimix), immersioni profonde, relitti, grotte e l'uso di rebreather (circuito chiuso e semichiuso).
