About the Center

DELTA Buceo diving center, located in La Herradura, Spain, is a training facility recognized by PADI and SSI certifications. It offers a wide range of courses, from introductory ones like Discover Scuba Diving to professional levels such as Divemaster and Instructor Development Course. It also provides specialties like Enriched Air Nitrox, Boat Diving, Deep Diver, and Night Diver.

DELTA Buceo's facilities include a bar, accommodation, a swimming pool, equipment rental, and a dive shop. For divers, it offers air fills (nitrox), boat diving, shore diving, and night diving services. Additionally, it provides airport transfer, facilitating client arrivals.

The center stands out for its underwater experience offerings, such as "step by step" scuba introductions, "direct to sea" experiences, and pool-based introductory dives, ideal for those wanting to try diving without a certification course. The Bay of La Herradura is a privileged location for diving activities, and DELTA Buceo leverages this environment to offer "Reactivate" programs for divers who have been out of the water for a while, as well as "Pool" programs to improve techniques in the pool.

DELTA Buceo also features specific programs for youth and children from 8 years old, with activities designed to ensure safety and fun, such as PADI Seal Team and PADI Master Seal Team. It completes its offering with EFR First Aid courses, CPR and semi-automatic defibrillation, as well as specific training for first aid in children and infants, and protocol update courses.

Buceo nocturno

The PADI Night Diver specialty course at Delta Buceo offers a unique opportunity to explore the underwater world after dark. Night diving transforms familiar dive sites into entirely new environments, revealing nocturnal marine life and different behaviors of diurnal creatures. It's an exciting way to experience the ocean from a different perspective. The course involves theoretical sessions covering the specific considerations for night diving, including navigation techniques, communication methods, and the use of specialized lighting equipment. You'll learn about the different types of marine life that are active at night and how to approach them respectfully. Safety is paramount, and the course emphasizes buddy procedures and emergency protocols tailored for low-visibility conditions. Practical training consists of three open water dives conducted after sunset. Delta Buceo will guide you through these dives, helping you become comfortable with your dive light and navigate effectively in the dark. You'll learn to use your senses differently and appreciate the unique ambiance of the underwater world at night. The location for these dives would typically be a familiar site like La Herradura, allowing you to see how it changes after dark. To enroll, you must be at least 12 years old and hold a PADI Open Water Diver certification or equivalent. Completing this course will certify you as a PADI Night Diver, enabling you to plan and execute night dives within your existing certification limits. It's a thrilling specialty that adds a new dimension to your diving adventures.

Programa Piscinea

The 'Piscinea' program at Delta Buceo in Granada offers a unique opportunity for divers to maintain and enhance their skills year-round. This program provides consistent access to their pool facilities, ensuring divers can practice, refine techniques, or experiment with new equipment in a controlled environment. It's an ideal solution for those seeking continuous development outside of open water conditions, allowing for focused skill-building without the variables of the sea. Participants can utilize the pool for supervised free practice sessions. This allows for dedicated work on specific skills such as buoyancy control, mask clearing, or equipment familiarization. The program also incorporates training seminars covering diverse diving topics, presenting avenues for both skill enhancement and knowledge expansion. This structured approach ensures that divers can effectively prepare for future dives or refresh their abilities between excursions. This program is particularly beneficial for divers aiming to keep their skills sharp between diving trips, prepare for upcoming certification courses, or test new gear in a safe setting before venturing into open water. The supervised nature of the 'Piscinea' program guarantees a safe experience and provides an excellent platform for instructors to offer personalized guidance and constructive feedback. Delta Buceo's dedication to diver progression is clearly demonstrated through this flexible offering. While specific monthly air temperatures in Granada fluctuate from a low of 13.1°C in December to a high of 28.6°C in July, the controlled pool environment of the Piscinea program remains constant. This consistency ensures that practice is never dependent on external weather conditions. The program's flexibility supports divers at all experience levels in their ongoing pursuit of underwater exploration and mastery of diving techniques, making it a valuable asset for the local diving community.

Frequently asked

What people ask before booking

All our experiences include: necessary material for theory, complete equipment for all dives, insurance coverage, and PADI registration fees. You only need a towel and swimsuit.

If you decide to start your Open Water Diver course after doing a baptism with us, we will deduct 50% of what you paid from the price of your course.

The 'step-by-step' baptism in La Herradura is the most complete experience, including both a pool session and a sea dive, ensuring you feel completely safe and enjoy your first dive to the fullest. Additionally, some practices from this modality are also part of the Open Water Diver course, meaning you won't have to repeat them if you decide to take the introductory course later.

Safety is our top priority. Our instructors are certified and will not leave the child's side for a second. The Seal Team course is for children aged 8-9 who are curious about diving and have tried a pool baptism experience (Bubblemaker).

Our courses include: necessary material for theory, complete equipment for all dives, insurance coverage, and PADI certification fees for issuing the corresponding card. They only need a towel and swimsuit.

It is not necessary for them to be accompanied during the activity. In fact, when they dive, they won't remember anyone else! It is highly recommended as they learn to navigate a new environment, reinforce their responsibility towards their companions and their own equipment, and most importantly, they have a great time!

At Delta school, we strongly advise against exposing yourself to diving situations for which you lack training. Night diving requires specific equipment and preparation different from natural light dives. Night dives transport us to an 'enchanted world' with species whose behaviors we are not accustomed to. Without the necessary training, it can be very easy to get disoriented, even in familiar dive sites, and the experience can become distressing. However, you can do it at your own risk.

Yes, don't worry, we can help you if you are missing any requirements. The Divemaster course is the first step to working in diving; all dive centers and boats have Divemasters on their staff.
