About the Center

Turtle Bay Divers, located on Perhentian Island, Malaysia, is a dive center offering a comprehensive range of diving courses and experiences throughout the dive season, which runs from mid-March to the end of October. This center is recognized for providing excellent value diving in Southeast Asia, with a guarantee that the diving quality remains consistently high.

The center provides courses from various internationally recognized certification agencies, including PADI, SSI, CMAS/FFESSM, NAUI, BSAC, IANTD, and TDI. In addition to foundational courses like Discover Scuba Diving and Open Water Diver, Turtle Bay Divers also offers specialized training such as Enriched Air Nitrox, Instructor Development Course, Boat Diving, and Wreck Diver. Facilities include lockers, a bar, equipment rental, and air fills (nitrox), along with options for boat diving, shore diving, and night diving.

Divers at Turtle Bay Divers can anticipate encountering abundant marine life, including turtles, stingrays, bumphead parrotfish, and numerous colorful reef fish. The center organizes regular dive trips to Redang Island and has recently expanded its offerings with three new wrecks in Perhentian: the Sugar Wreck (a 3500-tonne ship), the Police Wreck (featuring 3 boats at a 18m depth), and The Secret Wreck (an old freighter at 38m, suitable for more experienced divers and those qualified for Enriched Air).

Tauching conditions in Perhentian are generally favorable during the season, with consistently warm water temperatures around 30°C, making shorty wetsuits or rash vests sufficiently comfortable. Divers must provide proof of certification, with Open Water Diver certification being adequate for most dives. For dives deeper than 18 meters or night diving, a certification equivalent to PADI Advanced Diver is required. It is important to note that participants must complete a medical questionnaire before commencing any course, and it is advisable to review this form before arrival as there is no doctor on the island.
