Amigos do Mar - Associação Cívica de Defesa do Mar

Amigos do Mar is an environmental association founded on April 17, 1991 in Viana do Castelo, dedicated to the defense and protection of the marine environment. As a recognized NGO, it combines recreational diving with environmental education, training conscious divers who master diving techniques and understand the importance of marine conservation.

The association is accredited by DGRM (Directorate-General for Natural Resources, Safety and Maritime Services) and offers official nautical training (Sailor, Local Skipper and Coastal Skipper), as well as recreational diving activities, equipment rental and boat trips.

Amigos do Mar stands out for its unique approach that goes beyond technical teaching, promoting environmental lectures, conservation workshops and awareness activities. It also develops other aquatic activities such as canoeing and river tours, always with the mission to defend and protect the sea.
