PADI Divemaster
Offered by Divers Centre d'Immersions
Platja d'Aro, Girona
Course Description
The Divemaster is the first professional rating in the PADI system and the entry point to working in the dive industry. At 700€, Divers Diving offers the full programme from their base in Platja d'Aro on the Costa Brava.
Divemaster training is demanding in a way that recreational courses aren't — you're learning to manage groups, assist instructors, lead certified divers and handle real operational logistics. On the Costa Brava, those logistics include reading sea conditions, working with boat schedules, and knowing the local sites well enough to guide others through them. La Llosa de Palamós, with its 10–30 m range and variable light conditions, is the kind of site where a DM candidate builds real competence.
The programme requires you to already hold Rescue Diver and have Emergency First Response certification. You need a minimum number of logged dives as a prerequisite — check current PADI requirements and confirm with the center before enrolling, as the exact figure may depend on your existing log book.
The center works in Catalan, Spanish, English and French, which gives DM candidates exposure to multilingual briefings and client interactions — a practical advantage if you plan to work in international dive destinations afterward.
