Description

The Open Water Diver will be the course that will open the doors to a new underwater world. During the theoretical and practical sessions you will learn basic concepts of safety, equipment, buoyancy, physiology, marine biology... so that you can start your new passion with safety and knowledge.

To begin with, it is best to do the first practices in a pool or in confined water (playing on the beach at a shallow depth in a protected area such as a cove), which is a space that we all know and gives us security. During this first confined water session you will learn to assemble and disassemble your equipment, remove your mask underwater, share a regulator with your partner, control your neutral buoyancy... and many other exercises that will make us trust the equipment and help us prepare for our first deeper dives.

Once you have acquired some basic skills, we will enjoy 4 calm training dives to observe the fauna and flora of the seabed of l'Ametlla de Mar, learn new exercises, repeat previously practiced exercises, and take the final exam. The last dive will be from our super boat, the "Planktonsita".

Remember that the OWD Plankton course includes a marine biology seminar so that you learn to recognize the species that you will later find on your dives. In addition, we will also do a second extra seminar, the Deco seminar with our technical director, Xavi Llambrich, which will be on the Zoom platform during the month of the course.
