The pool Try Scuba at Buddycheck is the lowest-friction entry point into scuba diving available here. Sessions run at the Aquamathe in Letmathe during winter months, and at the outdoor pools Heidebad or Schleddenhof in summer — so there's no waiting for the right season. Before getting in the water, participants go through a short briefing on equipment and basic techniques at the poolside. The session is supervised by an SSI-certified instructor throughout. Equipment is provided by the school — mask, fins, BCD, regulator, tank — so there's nothing to bring beyond a swimsuit and a medical declaration form, which needs to be completed in advance. At 34 EUR for the pool version, this is the most affordable way to find out whether scuba diving is something worth pursuing further. SSI Open Water Diver
