The SSI Perfect Buoyancy specialty at Scubazores runs 6 to 10 hours and addresses what most divers consider the single biggest gap between theory and actual comfort underwater. Buoyancy control has a direct practical impact on the cave and cavern sites Scubazores uses regularly — stirring up silt in an enclosed space like Gruta das Cinco Ribeiras or Gruta dos Cavaco makes the dive worse for everyone.
The course is run in Portuguese and English. It can be combined with other specialty programmes at the centre as part of a multi-day visit to Terceira, and it counts toward SSI's Master Diver rating.
