Open Water Diver

The Open Water Diver certification is your passport to exploring the underwater world, and Diving Calvi offers this foundational course for individuals aged 12 and above. This program is globally recognized and qualifies you to dive to a maximum depth of 18 meters. You will gain the skills to dive either with a dive professional or independently with a buddy, opening up countless dive sites worldwide. The course structure includes six dives designed to build your confidence and competence. Initially, two 45-minute dives are conducted in a controlled environment, such as a beach, to a maximum depth of 5 meters, focusing on mastering essential skills. Subsequently, four dives are performed in natural marine environments, departing by boat, progressively reaching depths of 6, 12, and finally 18 meters.

The theoretical component is delivered through e-learning modules, covering six comprehensive chapters. This is followed by a final exam to ensure you have retained the crucial knowledge for safe diving practices. Upon successful completion, you will receive a lifelong certification that is internationally recognized by major agencies. This certification is the essential first step for anyone wishing to pursue further specialty diving courses and explore the diverse marine ecosystems that await.
