Curso Advanced Open Water

Advanced training at the European Diving School puts students in some of the most varied dive conditions on the Mediterranean coast. The wreck field alone — La Poursuivante at 45–60 metres, Le Trafik at 53–59 metres, Le Rubis at 34–38 metres — covers a wide depth and complexity range for advanced skills development.

Nitrox 32 is included at no extra charge at Saint-Tropez and Hyères, which is directly relevant for extending bottom time on deeper sites during training dives. Trimix is also available for those heading into technical territory.

The instructors here are trained in-house, and the centre manager Alexander Vogl has been working as a professional diving instructor since 1986. That institutional knowledge of the local sites means advanced students get detailed briefings on sites that the staff know from thousands of repeat dives — current patterns, entry points, visibility norms by season.

For divers who want to continue into technical diving, the depth profile of sites like La Poursuivante and Le Trafik, combined with the availability of Trimix on site, means the infrastructure is already in place. The Job section of the site also mentions DTSA assistant instructor and 1* and 2* instructor seminars each autumn, indicating the centre operates at the upper end of the training spectrum.
