Discover Scuba Diving

The first pool or open-water experience with scuba gear, run out of the Port Grimaud base on the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. Instructors handle all the safety briefing and gear fitting on site — the focus is on getting someone comfortable underwater without requiring any prior certification or training.

Port Grimaud is a sheltered marina environment, which makes it a practical spot for a first dive. The calm water and easy entry points mean instructors can spend the time on technique rather than managing conditions.

The centre has multilingual staff — German, English, French and Spanish — so the briefing can happen in whichever language the participant is most comfortable with. That matters more than people expect when you're trying to take in new information before jumping in.

After the session, participants with the bug can continue directly into a beginner course at the same location. The European Diving School runs the full progression from first breath underwater to advanced and technical certifications.
