Nitrox Diver

Go Dive Pacific offers its most popular specialty program, the Nitrox Diver course, also known as Enriched Air Diver. This program focuses on teaching divers how to utilize air mixtures with higher oxygen content, ranging from 21% to 40%. The primary benefit is extending bottom time, especially during repetitive dives, by reducing nitrogen absorption. This allows divers to potentially stay underwater longer without increasing decompression risks.

The curriculum is designed for all Open Water divers aged 12 and above. Participants will gain a thorough understanding of the advantages of diving with enriched air, including enhanced no-decompression limits. Key learning areas cover equipment considerations specific to enriched air, managing oxygen exposure, and the precise procedures for analyzing oxygen content in scuba tanks. The course includes a practical session and two dives, which are either optional or required depending on the student's progression, allowing for immediate application of learned skills.

Upon completion, divers will be better equipped to plan their dives more effectively, maximize their exploration time at underwater sites, and reduce surface intervals between dives. This certification is particularly beneficial for those aiming to optimize their diving opportunities, whether undertaking multiple dives in a single day or across consecutive days. The package includes one night's accommodation at their dive lodge in Port Gore, meals, tanks, and weights, providing a comprehensive learning experience.

These practical dives are conducted on the renowned Mikhail Lermontov wreck, offering a unique and significant site to practice enriched air diving techniques. Participants should be prepared by bringing warm clothing, a hat, and sunscreen.
