Baptême de plongée

The try-dive at Plongéquilibre runs at the Villeneuve-la-Garenne pit, a purpose-built facility north of Paris. The session lasts about 90 minutes in total: a short briefing, then one 20-minute dive supervised by a professional instructor. No prior experience is needed, and you don't have to be a strong swimmer.

At the end you receive an SSI recognition card. An optional theory session is available if you want to understand what's happening to your body underwater before you get in — useful if you're thinking about continuing toward a full certification.

Children can join from age 8. The format is deliberately simple: one dive, one instructor, one clear objective — find out whether you like it. Many students who do the baptême come back for the Basic Diver or Open Water within weeks.
