Mergulho Discovery (Batismo)

The Mergulho Discovery, also known as Baptism Dive, provides an accessible introduction to the underwater world at Porto da Barra, Salvador. This specific experience takes place near the coral reefs of Santa Maria, a location noted for its vibrant marine life and diverse fish species, offering a rich environment for novice divers. The program begins with a focused 20-minute theoretical session. This initial phase covers essential safety protocols, the correct usage of diving equipment, and fundamental techniques designed to build comfort and confidence before entering the water.

Following the theoretical instruction, participants engage in an in-water adaptation and training segment. Under the direct supervision of a certified instructor, this phase ensures a gradual acclimatization to the aquatic environment. The subsequent dive progresses to a maximum depth of 10 meters, a controlled limit ensuring a secure and comfortable exploration. The instructor remains in close proximity throughout the approximately 50-minute dive, guaranteeing a safe and engaging first encounter with the underwater realm.

All necessary diving apparatus is provided and included in the course fee. This includes essential gear such as a neoprene wetsuit, mask, fins, air cylinder, BCD (Buoyancy Control Device), and regulator. There are no undisclosed charges beyond the initial price. As a special memento, participants receive underwater photographs of their dive, a complimentary gift to commemorate this significant experience. This makes the Mergulho Discovery an ideal choice for individuals curious about scuba diving but not yet committed to a full certification.

The Galeão Sacramento center, which offers this introductory dive, is certified by both NAUI and PADI, indicating adherence to high international training standards. The primary language for instruction and communication at the center is Portuguese (pt).
