PADI Enriched Air (NITROX) Diver Course

Frog Dive's PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver specialty course is their most popular offering, designed to significantly extend your bottom time, especially during consecutive dives. This program focuses on the safe utilization of breathing gas mixtures that contain a higher percentage of oxygen and a lower percentage of nitrogen compared to standard compressed air. Understanding these enriched air blends is fundamental for managing your oxygen exposure limits and maximizing your opportunities underwater.

The curriculum is structured to provide flexibility, combining PADI's online E-Learning for the academic portion with a focused practical session at the Frog Dive shop. The online component allows you to learn at your own pace, covering essential topics such as the advantages of using nitrox, specific equipment considerations, and the principles of managing oxygen exposure. This theoretical foundation is a prerequisite for the hands-on application of nitrox diving techniques.

The practical session at the dive shop is efficient, typically lasting about one hour. During this session, you will review the knowledge gained from the E-Learning, discuss how nitrox mixes are prepared, and consider any gear implications. A key element of this hands-on component involves practical experience with oxygen analyzers and learning to program dive computers for specific nitrox mixes, ranging from 22% to 40% oxygen.

Practical sessions are generally scheduled bi-monthly, often on the second Tuesday of the month between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Frog Dive understands that schedules can be demanding, so they offer flexibility by allowing students to contact them to arrange a more suitable time if these standard dates are not convenient. This approach ensures the course is accessible to a wider range of divers.

To enroll in the PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver Course, you must be at least 12 years old and hold a PADI Open Water Diver certification or an equivalent rating from another agency. The course fee of 295.00 AUD includes the PADI Enriched Air Diver E-Learning, dedicated instructor tuition, and your PADI International Certification E-Card upon successful completion. Please bring your E-Learning completion certificate with you to the practical session.
