Formation Niveau 1 – Adultes

The "Formation Niveau 1 – Adultes" at Cyprea Plongee offers a comprehensive introduction to scuba diving, certifying participants through the FFESSM federation. This initiation level course is designed to equip adults with the necessary skills and confidence to dive safely under supervision to a maximum depth of 20 meters. The program structure, running from September to April, ensures a thorough learning experience combining theoretical knowledge with extensive practical application. Participants will gain foundational diving competencies, preparing them for supervised dives up to 20 meters globally.

The course curriculum includes a special "Premières bulles" (First Bubbles) sea day at Saint Cyr sur Mer, typically held in October, providing an initial open-water experience. Weekly pool training sessions are scheduled every Monday evening at the Polygone pool in Valence, focusing on mastering essential diving techniques in a controlled environment. Theoretical lessons are also conducted on Monday evenings, often preceding the pool sessions, to build a strong understanding of diving principles. Further practical skills are honed during a dive in the 20-meter deep dive pit at Meyzieu, usually in late January, before the final validation day at sea in April.

This comprehensive training culminates in a validation day at sea in April, featuring two mandatory dives to assess and confirm the skills acquired throughout the program. The FFESSM certification awarded upon successful completion provides a solid foundation for future diving adventures. The training is structured to ensure that by the end of the course, participants are comfortable and competent to enjoy dives up to 20 meters with an instructor, anywhere in the world.

Participants are required to bring a swim cap, swimsuit, towel, mask, snorkel, fins, and booties. Cyprea Plongee provides essential gear including BCDs, regulators, tanks, and a wetsuit for the "Premières bulles" sea day. The €270 fee covers club membership, FFESSM license with "Loisir 1" insurance, instruction, equipment loan, the initial sea dives, and the official Level 1 card, passport, and logbook. Additional costs apply for travel, meals for the "Premières bulles" day, the Meyzieu dive pit session (€28), and the validation day dives (€28 per dive). Prospective students must be of legal age by April, possess a CACI medical certificate, and be available on Monday evenings and for the two sea weekends. Pre-registration opens in late July, with in-person registration on the first two Mondays of September.
